Media Presbyterian Church

Among the many, many projects done for Media, a significant highlight must be their 150th sesquecentenial celebration videos. In addition to videotaping all of the scheduled events and speakers throughout the week, the church had a documentary video done for them celebrating and reflecting on the church's continuous ministry to the area.
The video was created from interviews with the former and present pastors and members, recanting their own personal memories and experiences. Along with the interviews, archival pictures and footage from both the church's and the town's history were used.
Some other projects include a promotional piece for the Church's ongoing all-church mission trip to Mars Hill, North Carolina to work with Habitat for Humanity. They had no video of their '98 trip; only pictures. We went around and did interviews with various church members who went, and used the many pictures taken to tell the story.
Just this past summer, Their medical mission to the village of San Lucas, Guatemala, called for another promotional video. A group of about 20 went down for a week in July. Member Shellee Buchanan brought down a video camera, and from her footage, we were able to put together a 10-minute video for the rest of the church to see.
They also have an on-going video project used for thier ever-growing new members class, which gives a ministry overview of the church and ministries. This was also done with interviews, as well as actual pictures and video footage of each ministry in action.
Because ministries change and evolve, this is an ongoing project. Two new staff members came on board this past season, and as a result, two new interviews were completed. With the help of non-linear editing, the two old sections were easily revised.
In addition, youth pastor Ted Mingle has made fun videos for his youth program. Together, we conceived and wrote up the scripts based on parodies of popular movies. These were used as entertainment for his season kickoff as well as for August's Great Escape summer camp program.
Kudos to Art Kalemkarian for his editing assistance to get the projects done on time. Also to Ed Hilton, Jim Bosma, Harry Pettijohn from Paoli Pres., R.B. Pray from Wallingford Pres., Jeff Mowery from COS and all the youth for their wonderful acting.
